Science-Backed Ingredients
As a naturally occurring compound that plays a vital role in wound healing, CoQ10 elevates the body’s defenses and healing potential.
While promoting crucial wound-healing processes, CoQ10 is also trusted for a myriad of cardiovascular benefits, including better heart health and lower blood pressure, improving the body’s ability to transport oxygen and nutrients to wounded tissue.
During an 8-day study on periodontal tissue, subjects that received CoQ10 demonstrated improved cutaneous wound healing by day 3, with reduced inflammatory reactions.1
The advantages of CoQ10 were further demonstrated in a double-blind randomized clinical trial where 60 patients with burns received either a placebo or CoQ10. The CoQ10 group demonstrated increased levels of serum albumin, a protein within blood plasma known to carry essential nutrients to wound sites during the healing process.2
In an animal model of cardiac injury, 10 days of prior antioxidant supplementation with Vitamin C and CoQ10 reduced oxidative stress and improved muscle tissue healing 18 hours after injury, compared to controls that did not receive antioxidant supplements.3
A long-term randomized controlled trial evaluated whether CoQ10 supplements could help reduce cardiac damage in 420 patients with chronic heart failure. After 2 years, participants who received 100Â mg CoQ10 three times per day had a lower chance of death from cardiovascular as well as all causes, required fewer hospital stays, and their cardiovascular symptoms were significantly more improved than the placebo group.4
Clinical Benefits
