Triad is a zinc-oxide-based hydrophilic paste designed for wounds with light to moderate drainage. Its unique formulation, containing carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), dimethicone, petrolatum, and zinc oxide, provides a gentle and effective solution for various wound types.
Triad’s occlusive properties create a protective barrier, while its hydrophilic nature ensures even moisture distribution across the wound surface. This balanced environment promotes autolytic debridement, where the body’s natural enzymes break down necrotic tissue.
What is Triad Hydrophilic Wound Dressing made from?
Triad contains a blend of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), dimethicone, petrolatum, and zinc oxide.
How is Triad Hydrophilic Wound Dressing Used?
Cleanse the wound before applying Triad. Triad is designed for use on wet and irregular surfaces is often used by itself, no secondary dressing is required. Triad can be applied directly from the tube or by using a gloved finger. Gently spread Triad evenly over the area of over the affected area about the thickness of a dime. Triad may not always dry completely and some light staining on bed linens or garments might occur. To help prevent staining Triad is often covered with dry gauze or other absorbent dry dressing if needed. For deeper wounds, Triad is often worked in into dry gauze. The gauze is then shaped to fit within the wound bed, and loosely packed into the wound and areas of undermining or tunneling.
